Jomsom Muktinath Trekking is one of the best route  in Annapurna and Mustang Region. This trek includes the deepest gorge of the world at Kaligandaki River. Anyone having moderate level of fitness can complete this trek. The trail begins  along the Kaligandaki River Gorge and marvel at the splendid peaks of Annapurna “I” and Dhaulagiri. Besides, You will get chance to explore the centuries-old monastery, local tribes, and caves along with the wonderful scenic beauty. The other mountains you will be witnessing are the Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, and other peaks.

During the initial days of Jomsom Muktinath Trek, trekkers walk through Annapurna region which ascends through rice terraces and villages inhabited by the indigenous people and mostly Gurungs. You will have interesting time when you reach Tatopani, to relax with natural hot springs. The trail pass through Jomsom and Kagbeni which are the entry point of upper Mustang Region. Then will explore the holy Hindu pilgrimage site of Muktinath which equally sacred site for Buddhists too. The sacred temple has 108 sprouts of water. After that, you will move downhill to Jomsom where you can look around at the gateway to the ‘Forbidden Kingdom of Mustang.’  you will have great time trekking in Jomsom Muktinath Area during your Nepal Vacations.

Itinerary

Day 01: By Plane or Tourist bus to Pokhara.
Day 02: Drive to Nayapool (45 Km) &  trek to Ulleri (2000 mt) about 5 hours.
Day 03: Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani (2750 mtrs) about  7 hours.
Day 04: Trek from Ghorepani to Tatopani (1190 mtrs ) about 6 hours.
Day 05: Trek from Tatopani to Ghasa (2110 mtrs ) about  6 hours.
Day 06: Trek from Ghasa to Marpha (2680 mtrs) about 5 hours.
Day 07: Trek from Marpha to Kagbeni (2810 mtrs ) about 5 hours.
Day 08: Trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath (3710 mtrs ) about 6 hours.
Day 09: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2710 mtrs) 6 hours.
Day 10: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara.

Day 01: Kathmandu to Pokhara by tourist bus or Flight.

It takes  about 6 to 7 hours by tourist bus, You will see lots of  beautiful scenery on this routes. Its 200 Km Prithivi highway connects to Pokhara. Or by plane just 25 minutes flights you will enjoy the best views of Himalayas from the air. Pokhara offers the magnificent views of Machhapuchhre, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, five peaks of Annapurna, and others. We can explore numerous of Lakes in Pokhara. We will stay overnight in hotel in Pokhara.

Day 02: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and trek to Ulleri Today, we begin our trek at Nayapul after 1 hour driving by a private vehicle from Pokhara it’s just 45 km road distance. And then after 20 minutes of short walk along the bank of Modi Khola, we will reach Birethanti. Trek starts from Birethanti to Ulleri which will take around three and half hours . One the way, you will be observing the beautiful farming lands and people working there. Finally we will reach at Ulleri. Stay overight at Lodge.

Day 02: Trek from Ghorepani to Tatopani (1190 mtrs)  About 6 hours: Ghorepani offers the panoramic views of surrounding mountains including Nilgiri Mountains and Annapurna South. After having breakfast, we will leave for Tatopani. Well, on the way to Tatopani, we will descend steeply to Sikha which is a large village and then to Ghar Khola Village. Just after crossing a suspension bridge, the trail ascend up to Tatopani. We will take bath in the natural hot spring to sooth tired muscles. Stay Overnight at Lodge.

Day 03: Trek from Tatopani to Ghasa (2110 mtrs ) About 6 hours : Today, the trail follows the Kali Gandaki River which flows under the deep gorge. We will continue along Dana and Rupse Chhahara and Kopchepani as well. Further continuing through the trail, we reach at the Thakali village of Ghasa which is considered a paradise for bird watchers. We will stay overnight at Ghasa. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 04: Trek from Ghasa to Marpha (2680 mtrs) About 5 hours:  Today, a steep climb through forest takes us to Lete Khola and finally at Lete. We then reach at Larjung Village. From Larjung, we cross trail via Tukuche and finally at Marpha. Marpha is considered The Apple Capital of Nepal. We will stay  at Marpha Village. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 05: Trek from Marpha to Kagbeni (2810 mtrs) About 5 hours: Today, our trail continues along the valley side. We will be rising gradually before crossing over a low ridge to Jomsom Village. From Jomsom on wards it is very windy in the afternoon and the trek continues on the gradual path on the Kali Gandaki river bed for about 3 hours. We then walk to Kagbeni . Overnight at Lodge.

Day 06: Trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath (3710 mtrs) About 4 hours: Today, our journey starts with a special permit check-up and onwards to the riverbank of Kali Gandaki upstream. During our walk, we will have scenic picturesque places to stop by. And from Kagbeni, the path climbs steeply to rejoin the direct trail leading to Khingar. Our trail finally climbs through a desert landscape till Jharkot village to finally reach at Muktinath.

Day 07: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2710 mtrs) About  6 hours : Muktinath is one of the important destination for Hindus & Buddhists too.  We will visit Muktinath Temple of Lord Vishnu in the morning. And then, we will leave Muktinath to reach Jomsom for overnight stay.

Day 08: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara After breakfast, we will check in the airport to catch the flight to Pokhara. The dramatic flight of 20 minutes will take us to Pokhara. In the afternoon, we will explore the Pokhara Valley and lakeside views. We will also witness the magnificent views of mountains around.

Day 09: Drive or Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu : Today, after having morning breakfast, we will leave Pokhara and take a drive to Kathmandu. It will take around 7-8 hours to reach at Kathmandu. At the remaining time, you can explore the Kathmandu city or you can go for shopping.
